Years ago, I noticed that the menstrual cycle and the lunar cycle are both around 28 days, and then I stopped thinking about it. I recently read somewhere that that's not a coincidence. The moon affects menstruation.
In fact, I also remember reading somewhere that women's menstrual cycles were more in sync with each other's in the past, before technology started changing our lives so much. That's nuts. Can you imagine? We would all PMS at the same time! There would be this time of the month when women should just stay home and away from each other.
If that is true, that means women also became lustful at around the same time, since females tend to be more easily aroused during ovulation. My next thought is: how would men deal with all this, especially if women's cycles are in sync? Maybe the synchronization makes it easier for everyone. Then there's that other thing about men's behaviour also being affected by the cycle.
On a less vulgar note, all this stuff seem to comply with the Yin-Yang system. Females have more Yin, which is attributed to the moon, while males have more Yang, which is attributed to the sun.
No wonder I used to love staring at the moon when I was little. There's all sorts of lunar-female mythology and folklore in Western and Eastern cultures as well as modern theories. As iffy as this whole lunar-female relationship sounds, I have to admit my affinity for the moon.
There doesn't seem to be too much scientific knowledge on this; most of what I can find are observations showing unexplained patterns.
